Finally the sun is giving us a break. North Texas has welcomed beautiful autumn weather to the Metroplex. It feels wonderful to be outside; to head outdoors and be active after a summer lodged indoors with the treadmill as a sole form of exercise.

American Heart Association Start! Heart Walk Annual T-Shirt Design Contest

The American Heart Association Start! Heart Walk will take place September 10, 2011. Over two million dollars have been raised so far, quickly heading toward the American Heart Association’s goal of raising $3.5 million dollars to help fight heart disease.

The Heart Walk is a great time for the entire community. Each year, the AHA puts on the annual T-shirt design contest, where families, companies and friends get together to make their own t-shirts to sport during the Heart Walk.

Dallasites are Gaining Milage

It’s the only time of day in Dallas when you can stand outside for more than an hour without fanning yourself. At 7:30am, over 20,000 people have gathered in Victory Park for the American Heart Association Start! Heart Walk. Dallasites fill the one-way streets in multi-colored T-shirts and walking gear. The American Heart Association is hosting the 2010 Heart Walk this Saturday, September 11. You+Dallas’s own Molly Nolan has been lobbying with the American Heart Association for over 5 years.
